Features

Everything you expect from a download manager

Browser integration

Downloads from Chrome and Edge open straight in Download Manager and ask where to save. Right-click any link to download with it.

Correct names & types

File names come from the server (Content-Disposition) and the extension matches the file type — a PDF stays a PDF.

Multi-connection

Files are split into up to 8 parts downloaded at once — much faster on servers that support it.

Pause & resume

Lost connection or closed the laptop? Continue where you left off. Files changed on the server are detected and safely restarted.

Queue & categories

Paste links or import up to 1,000 URLs. Compressed, Documents, Music, Video, Pictures and Programs are sorted automatically.

Scheduling (Pro)

Start big downloads at night or whenever your connection is free.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is it free?

Yes. Free downloads one file at a time with browser integration, pause, resume and queue. Pro adds speed (8 connections), 4 downloads at once and scheduling.

How do browser downloads open in it?

Turn on Browser integration in Settings and add the extension for Chrome/Edge. When you click a download link, Download Manager opens and asks where to save it. Right-click a link for "Download with FredMY Download Manager".

My PDFs used to become unknown files. Is that fixed?

Yes. File names and types are now read from the server (Content-Disposition and Content-Type), so PDFs, ZIPs and images are saved with the right extension.

Do I still need a license key?

No. Sign in to FredMY with your fred.my account — Download Manager checks your plan automatically. Unlimited makes it Pro straight away.

Why can some files not resume?

Resume and multiple connections need the server to support range requests. If it does not, the app safely downloads again.

Are my files sent to fred.my?

No. Downloads go straight between your computer and the file server. The app only checks your plan and updates.
