Download Manager: resume, file names and common problems

The file was saved without an extension

Download Manager uses the name sent by the server (Content-Disposition) and adds the right extension from the file type (Content-Type), for example .pdf. If a server sends no information, you can rename the file in the Add dialog before starting.

Resume does not work

Resuming needs the server to support range requests. If it does not, the download restarts from the beginning — the status column tells you.

Downloads are slow

• Pro splits a file into up to 8 connections. Some servers limit connections; lower the number in Settings if you see errors.
• Pause other large downloads in the queue.

The file is reported as changed

If the server file changes during a download, the app restarts safely instead of joining two different versions.
